Heavy, thundery showers in central Europe and the Mediterranean

Wednesday
A thundery pattern exists again across southern Europe. Clusters of storms for southern Spain, although fewer than previous days. Portugal looks dry and warm. Fresher for northern Spain, but plenty of fair weather around Biscay. Thunderstorms will increasingly break out for southern France and the Alps, also Italy. Thundery too for the Balkan mountains and into mainland Greece. The Greek Islands should be dry.
Areas of thunderstorms will break out across eastern-central Europe for Germany, Czechia, Slovakia, Romania and parts of Hungary. Meanwhile northern France and the Low Countries will stay generally dry and warm, with variable cloud and some sun. High pressure lies over northern Russia, producing a waft of warm southerly air across much of Scandinavia, generating summer-like warmth. Chance of a little rain fringing into western Norway, otherwise lots of dry weather.

Thursday
Heavy showers in eastern Spain on Thursday. Some cloud in Portugal and northern Spain, although fair elsewhere. The Balearics will have sunny spells whilst Italy has heavy, thundery showers. Further thunderstorms in Greece and Turkey, some of these heavy.
Cloud and some showers in eastern France today. Western areas brighter with sunshine. Cloud and some showery rain through Germany whilst more persistent rain and some thunderstorms move through Poland. Austria and Hungary will have further heavy showers whilst Switzerland is dry with sunny spells.
Cloud and rain affecting Denmark with some cloud in the Baltic States. Finland will be fair with more sunshine to come here. Staying sunny in northern Sweden but some rain in the south. Cloud and heavy rain affecting western Norway.
