Heavy and thundery rain central and southern Europe, fine to the north


Tuesday
Frequent, sometimes thundery, showers over Iberia and the Balearic Islands - these heaviest over northeastern Spain. Heavy outbreaks of rain also affect Corsica, Sardinia and southern Italy. Drier but cloudy for northern Italy. Outbreaks of rain also spread across Greece and continue to affect northern Turkey. Mostly dry and fine for southern Turkey.
Showers and outbreaks of rain over southern France; drier to the north with sunny spells developing for some. Mostly dry and sunny conditions prevail across the Low Countries, Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Austria and Switzerland. Broken cloud developing at times for Belgium and Switzerland.
Staying dry and mostly sunny for Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland and the Baltic States. Some broken cloud around for Finland and the Baltics and for northern parts of Norway and Sweden where isolated showers may also develop.


Wednesday
Showers in eastern Spain, but fair in the west and in Portugal too. Heavy rain, some of it thundery over central and southern Italy as well as Corsica and Sardinia. Rain in western Greece, but dry in the east with sunshine. Some showers in central and eastern Turkey, fair to the west.
Rain and showers in central and southern France, fair to the north. Breezy through the Low Countries and Germany with lengthy spells of sunshine. Dry with more sunshine for Austria and Hungary, with fair weather for Switzerland too.
A fair day with more sunshine for Denmark and across Norway. The Baltic States will be cool and dry with further sunshine. Finland will be dry with some good spells of sunshine, and it should be staying fair in Sweden throughout.
