Saturday A very warm and dry day for Spain, topping 30C in the south-west, or locally 35C in southern Portugal. Also very warm central and western France. A warm day for central Europe too, 21 to 24C for Germany. A developing low and frontal system sweeps into north-west France bringing wind and heavy rain. Thundery outbreaks will develop more widely across France by evening and night. A thundery day for Italy and the Balkans, whilst Greece and the Black Sea regions will be dry. Warm and dry across eastern Europe, 23 to 27C for Hungary, and locally 24C in southern Poland. Showery rain for western Norway with snow in the mountains. Sweden should be largely dry, 15C in the south. 10C or below for much of Scandinavia. Quite breezy for Finland. Some rain for the Baltic states.
Sunday High pressure centred around Biscay maintains dry and very warm conditions for Spain and Portugal. Windy and cooler for France, with areas of heavy rain drifting southwards. Thundery bursts likely for the Alps and northern Italy. Showers for the Balkans, also southern Germany and the Czech Republic. A risk of local bursts of rain for the Baltic states, but much of eastern Europe stays dry and warm. Possible afternoon showers for mainland Greece , but the Greek islands and the eastern Mediterranean will be dry and sunny. High pressure builds into Scandinavia, resulting in a fair day for many areas, although early rain moves across southern Sweden. Strengthening southwesterly winds will push rain into western Norway later.
