Warmest across southern Portugal

Today
A dry and sunny day to come across Portugal and much of Spain. A few showers will affect north east Spain and the Balearics. Deep low pressure in the central Mediterranean will to produce strong and gusty winds from north east Spain to the Adriatic Sea. Further snow is expected across the Alps today. An area of heavy rain is likely from Finland southward across the Baltic States, Poland, the Czech Republic into Austria, northern Italy and into Sardinia. The rain looks very intense across southern Italy with a risk of flash flooding. Heavy showers are likely Corsica and Sardinia. An area of very heavy rain also spreads into the Adriatic Region as well. It continues dry across Bulgaria, Romania, most of Turkey, The Ukraine and western Russia. Expect a dry day for Norway, Sweden, Germany and most of France while a few coastal showers to affect the Low Countries and Denmark.



Tuesday
An area of heavy rain across England moves into northern France later in the day. This may also affect the far north of Spain but most of Spain and Portugal will be mostly sunny and dry. Fair and dry across central and southern France along with the Balearics. Frequent, heavy showers persist around Corsica, Sardinia and Sicily. Further heavy spells of rain are expected across Italy and the Adriatic Region with snow over the Alps. Under high pressure much of eastern Europe will be rather cold but settled. Lots of fair, dry weather is expected across The Balkans, Greece, Turkey, The Ukraine, Poland and across the Baltic States into Finland and Russia. Fine and dry as well into Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Norway and across Belgium and The Netherlands. Cyclonic winds remain quite strong in the central Mediterranean.
