Rain and gales in central Europe, fair in central and western Mediterranean


Thursday
A fair day in Portugal and Spain on Thursday. There will be good spells of sunshine and these will be affecting the Balearics too. Scattered showers for Corsica and Sardinia and mostly dry in Italy. Greece will be fair with lots of sunshine, although a wet day with heavy rain and some snow in Turkey, windy here too.
Gales and heavy rain in central and northern France but dry to the south. Windy with further rain in the Low Countries and Germany, a risk of some severe gales here too. Poland will be dry in the east but the wind and raion reaching the west later. Austria and Hungary as well as Switzerland will be breezy and cloudy with outbreaks of rain.
The risk of some sleet, snow and rain in Denmark. Chilly and dry in the Baltic States whilst a few snow showers affecting Finland. Sweden should be mostly dry and chilly with some sunny spells. Chilly in Norway but mostly dry with some sunshine.


Friday
Outbreaks of light rain across northern Spain on Friday. For the rest of Spain and Portugal the day should be fair with sunny spells. Remaining mostly fair in Majorca and Ibiza as well as Corsica and Sardinia. Showers for Italy, heaviest in the north whist Greece may see some showers in the west too. Fair for much of western Turkey although colder and more unsettled in the east.
Breezy and unsettled in much of central Europe. Periods of rain and showers in France and Switzerland, although Germany will be bright with sunny spells and a few showers. Poland will have further showers, some of them heavy and falling as snow. Austria and Hungary should be dry.
Bright for Denmark, although some showers in the west. Snow for the Baltic States, although Finland will be dry with sunny spells. Mostly fair in Sweden with just an odd shower here. Showers or outbreaks of rain affecting southern Norway but fair and dry to the north.
