Philip Eden

Philip Eden was a passionate meteorologist, a respected BBC weather broadcaster and a brilliant author of many entertaining and well researched weather columns and books. He was second to none in translating often dry weather facts and historic data into little masterpieces of weather literature. Back in 2001, only a very few days after was launched, one of the first emails I got was from Philip. We've never met before and he just wrote to let us know that he liked the website and suggested that we add a couple of other maps to our pages. He also gave us a lot of friendly, encouraging words for our new venture. Soon our weather conversations became more regular and Philip offered to publish weather columns for WeatherOnline, adapted for the purpose of our web service. Over the years, we had the pleasure to publish more than one hundred of his articles.

Philip died aged 66 on January, 4th 2018. We have lost a friend. Our trade lost a great meteorologist. The world has lost a good man.
