Drier too in Wales and southwest England with the weather becoming brighter here. This direr and brighter weather reaches eastern areas by late morning to leave a mostly dry afternoon. Best sunshine in the west, although always a chance of a shower in the west. Further rain in northern and eastern Scotland this afternoon, but drier weather to the west and south will be reaching these areas by late afternoon. Turning windy in Ireland. Low pressure to the west of Ireland on Thursday bringing wind and rain across Ireland and into southwest Scotland. Showers over Wales and southwest England, but a drier and brighter start to the day in central and eastern areas. Into the afternoon there will be more wind and rain in Ireland and much of central and western Scotland, parts of northwest England and northwest Wales.
