Unsettled, wet and windy although mostly mild

Friday 3/2/17
Low pressure sweeps eastwards bringing the potential for a wet and windy day on Friday. Gales could be severe and widespread, although there is much uncertainty about where the strongest of the winds will be. The rain tending to pass eastwards with heavy showers following from the west. The showers turning thundery in places. Highs at 7 to 10C.

Saturday 4/2/17
An unsettled day seems likely for Saturday. Several areas of low pressure will be close to the UK bringing strong winds and heavy rain. The heaviest rain looks set to be in the east where winds will be strongest too. Brighter with some showers in the west and winds falling lighter here. Highs at a cooler 5 to 8C.

Sunday 5/2/17
A cooler day for Sunday with low pressure surrounding the UK and Ireland. A general mix of bright spells and showers, although there could be some more persistent rain, especially in the south. These perhaps turning increasingly wintry over the hill of Scotland, northern England and Wales. Temperatures at 4 to 9C.

Monday 6/2/17
A weak ridge of high pressure may give a reprieve on Monday as low pressure clears east. Perhaps drier for most with sunny spells, although because of the mobile nature of the weather at this time confidence is low. Highs at 7 to 10C.

Tuesday 7/2/17
Another area of low pressure is expected to be close to Ireland and western Scotland on Tuesday. This brings further strong winds to most with gales, possible severe, in the west. Rain in northern and western areas too, but tending to be drier in the southeast. Highs at 8 to 10C.

Wednesday 8/2/17
Low pressure to the north of the UK on Wednesday with fronts passing north and east. A dap day is likely for many with most of the rain to the west. Highs at 4 to 9C.
