Sunday 3/1/16
Another area of low pressure west of Scotland is likely to be bringing more substantial rainfall on Sunday. Starting dry in the east, perhaps with a few bright spells. However, thicker cloud and rain arrives from the west during the morning. This spreads eastwards and the rain becomes heavy at times, especially in more western areas. Probably turning drier to the west during the afternoon and evening, although heavy showers then following. Further flooding is possible in parts of Scotland and northwest England. Tops near 7 to 10C.

Monday 4/1/16
Pressure remains low through Monday over the UK and Ireland. There may be rain in northern and eastern Scotland, but elsewhere it should be brighter and cooler. There will be some showers. A risk of some more persistent rain affecting southwest and southern England later, with some stronger winds here too. Highs at 5 to 10C.

Tuesday 5/1/16
A mixed day on Tuesday with low pressure both northwest and southeast of the country. This brings broken cloud, showers or longer periods of rain. Most of the rain tending to be in Wales, Northern England, Scotland and Ireland. Feeling cool with tops of 4 to 8C.

Wednesday 6/1/16
A deeper area of low pressure passing into Ireland on Wednesday. This pushes gales and rain eastwards through all areas. The rain could be heavy at times, especially in Scotland and the west of the UK. Highs at 5 to 8C.

Thursday 7/1/16
Low pressure is expected to be staying close to Scotland on Thursday. This brings another unsettled day. A chilly one too with frequent showers these turning more persistent in Scotland. and northern England. A risk of snow on hills. Windy too with highs at 4 to 8C.

Friday 8/1/16
Low pressure remains over Scotland on Friday. This is going to be bringing a cool day once again. There will be a mix of sunshine and showers, some of them heavy, falling as snow on hills as far south as Wales. Tops at 3 to 7C.
