Slight frost some mornings

A mixed outlook over the next few days with rain at times, although some brighter periods too. Temperatures will be close to average, but cool where rain lingers. Where skies clear overnight, a touch of frost is possible. By the middle of next week, temperatures should feel more spring-like for most places.

A broad area of low pressure is likely to encompass the British Isles, with various fronts rotating around it. Some areas of rain, may locally set in for several hours, but precise details uncertain. Some places may well escape dry for much of the day. Blustery winds developing across southern regions. Temperatures between 7 and 11C.
 

Monday 06/03/17
Low pressure remains across the country, but pressure may build slowly through the day. Areas of persistent rain and a scattering of showers, but detail is again uncertain. Some bright and sunny spells. Winds fairly light. Local frost in the morning. Daytime highs 7 to 11C.
 

Tuesday 07/03/17
High pressure toward the south & east, whilst low pressure pushes fronts across Ireland. Starting cool with possible frost. Sunshine gives way to thickening cloud, and rain is likely to develop across western regions through the day. A freshening southerly breeze. Highs 7 to 12C.
 

Wednesday 08/03/17
A mild south to south-westerly pattern is likely. Dry and mild with some sunshine. Cloudy in the west & north. Risk of rain for Northern Ireland and western Scotland. Milder for all, highs 10 to 13C.

Thursday 09/03/17
Staying mild. Dry in the south & east, whilst fronts bring rain to the north-west. A south to south-westerly breeze. Highs 11 to 14C.

Friday 10/03/17
Fronts may slip southwards, bringing patchy rain to central areas. Mild in the south, but turning cooler in the north with a few showers. Highs 9 to 13C.
