Mixed throughout, unsettled early next week

A mixed week ahead. Thundery rain through Thursday, clearing east and then being followed by patchy rain moving in from the west. There is low confidence in the forecast through the end of the weekend and early next week with low pressure perhaps bringing some rain to southern and eastern England. Perhaps becoming more settled in eastern and southern areas mid-week although still some rain in the west.

Saturday 8/7/17
Weak fronts spreads south through Ireland, northern England and Wales on Saturday. There will be cloud and outbreaks of rain affecting Ireland, Wales and northern England, this slipping south into the Midlands and parts of East Anglia dring the day. Dry in the far south with sunny spells and very warm here. Drier in Scotland and northern parts of Ireland, this drier weather edging into northern England. Highs at 28C in southeast England, 16C in northern Scotland.


Sunday 9/7/17
Low pressure both south and north of the UK through Sunday. An area of rain may edge into southern and southeastern England, perhaps turning thundery, although confidence is low. A further band of rain associated with a front passing east into Scotland and Ireland, most in the west. Elsewhere it will be drier and brighter with sunny spells, the best in northern England and eastern Scotland. Highs at 26C in southeast England, 15C in northern Scotland.


Monday 10/7/17
A ridge of high pressure may build across the UK and Ireland on Monday. This should bring a drier day with sunny spells. Thicker cloud and some rain arriving in western Ireland and western Scotland. Note that confidence in the detail of the forecast is low. Highs at 25C in southern England, 17C in northern Scotland.
 


Tuesday 11/7/17
An area of low pressure is expected to be passing east through the UK and Ireland on Tuesday. This brings an unsettled day with cloud and rain or showers. Temperatures reaching 13 to 18C.


Wednesday 12/7/17
Another ridge of high pressure builds eastwards on Wednesday. This brings a dry day with sunny spells for many. Highs at 16 to 22C.

Thursday 13/7/17
Low pressure to the northwest of Scotland on Thursday with a westerly flow affecting all areas. There will be weak fronts passing south and east bringing cloud and some spots of rain although it is uncertain as to where fronts will be located. North and south of the fronts it should be drier and brighter, especially in the east. Highs at 15 to 23C.
