Mixed with wind and rain at times, but perhaps better later

Mixed conditions through the weekend and into next week, although things may improve later. There will be some periods of rain and showers through the weekend and into next week and it may be windy too. Temperatures close to average overall. Hints of pressure building in the middle stages of next week bringing etter weather for most.

Saturday 19/8/17
Low pressure stays to the northeast of Scotland on Saturday. This takes some morning rain with it through the far northeast of Scotland, followed by sunshine and showers. The showers heaviest in northern and western Scotland, with some affecting northwest England and the north and west of Ireland. More eastern and southern areas tending to be drier with sunny spells and just a chance of an isolated shower. Highs at 15 to 22C.


Sunday 20/8/17
High pressure remains across southern and eastern England on Sunday. Fronts pass northeast through Ireland and Scotland bringing cloud and rain here. The rain my affect northwest England too. Windy in northern and western. Mostly dry in southern Wales and western England although rather cloudy. Highs at 17 to 24C.
 


Monday 21/8/17
Low pressure to the north of Scotland on Monday as pressure increases across Ireland, England and Wales. There will be good spells of sunshine in southern areas, although cloud and patchy rain may affect the far north of England, Ireland and southern Scotland. Breezier and cooler with showers in northern Scotland. Highs to 24C in southern England, 17C in northern Scotland.


Tuesday 22/8/17
An area of low pressure may pass through Scotland on Tuesday. This takes rain and showers with it and it may be breezy too. A cooler day and breezy too. Highs at 14 to 23C.


Wednesday 23/8/17
Low pressure drifts to the east of the country on Wednesday. This brings a cooler northwest wind to all areas as a ridge of high pressure builds into Ireland. There are likely to be showers in the north and east, but fewer in the west and south where it should be mostly dry with the best of any sunshine. Highs at 15 to 23C.

Thursday 24/8/17
High pressure is expected to be over the UK and Ireland on Thursday bringing better weather with sunny spells. There is the risk of some thicker cloud in northern Scotland with patchy rain here. Highs at 18 to 24C.
