Often windy, snow showers later

Much of this upcoming week is looking more unsettled than of late with low pressure taking charge. Temperatures are expected to become quite mild into mild week but a cold front clears bringing colder air south as more wintry conditions develop later in the week.

Tuesday 10/01/17
Cooler in the south but temperatures still above normal across Britain. A cloudy and windy day with sporadic outbreaks of rain, somewhat drier in the north. Windy tonight with more persistent rain to come across the north west - dry in the east and south. Expect high temperatures of 5 to 10C.


Wednesday 11/01/17
Windy and mild with some patchy rain across parts of western Britain. Colder across Scotland. Largely dry for the afternoon and staying cloudy across England and Wales with a risk of snow over the hills of northern Scotland. Highs of 5 to 12C.

 
 
 


Thursday 12/01/17
Cold across Scotland and cooler across the rest of Britain and quite windy with rain. As this clears later in the day, it turns colder and the rain may turn to snow as it clears. Snow showers are possible to low levels in the north. Breezy and cold by night with clear spells and occasional wintry showers in the west and near North Sea coasts. Some icy patches are possible. Highs of 2 to 8C.


Friday 13/01/17
It looks cold and breezy with lots of sunshine inland while wintry showers may affect western and eastern coasts of Britain. A band of snow showers may be pushing south out of Scotland tonight, but confidence is low. A cold and breezy night. Highs of 1 to 4C.

 
 
 


Saturday 14/01/17
It appears cold with patchy sleet and snow in the south clearing. Fair and dry for most areas today. An area of rain may spread in from the west in the evening and night. Highs of 0 to 4C.

Sunday 15/01/17
Rather windy and unsettled with outbreaks of rain, preceded by snow over the hills of northern Britain. This clears leaving a risk of wintry showers in the north and the west. Expect highs of 3 to 6C.
