Generally dry and cool, increasingly murky

The cool weather continues through the rest of this week and into the weekend. High pressure is in control and there will b plates of cloud floating around the high makining it difficult to predict where the brightest spots will be. There is likely to be tendency towards more fog and murkier conditions through the weekend and into next week.

Saturday 3/12/16
The area of high pressure remains over the country on Saturday. Cloud is likely to be broken in many areas but there will be some morning fog patches in the east. These lift and then most of the day is dry with bright spells, although always the risk of some spots of rain to the far west. Breezier conditions in Ireland and southwest England. Temperatures at a chilly 4 to 7C.


Sunday 4/12/16
The area of high pressure may drift a little further east on Sunday. There is still the threat of fog afecting much of Scotland and northeast England, but an increased breeze in southern and western areas tending to lift fog into lower cloud here, although it stays murky. A few bright spells affecting the far southwest. Feeling cool at 4 to 7C.
 


Monday 5/12/16
High pressure to the east of the country on Monday. This brings broken cloud and mostly dry conditions. Across the far south there is the risk of some patchy rain developing, and it may be rather murky across many areas too. A cold day with highs at 3 to 5C for most.
 


Tuesday 6/12/16
The area of high pressure is expected to stay to the east on Tuesday. Lower pressure to the west with brisker winds in the far west of Ireland. Brighter and drier to the east with sunny spells after morning fog clears. The threat of a front bringing some patchy rain to southern coasts of England. Staying cold at 3 to 5C for most, perhaps milder in the far south of England at 7C here.


Wednesday 7/12/16
A slightly milder day on Wednesday. High pressure remains to the east. It is likely to be dry for most although rather murky with plenty of cloud. Fronts afecting western Ireland bringing the risk of rai here. Highs at 4 to 8C for most but 9 to 10C in parts of Ireland and southwest England.

Thursday 8/12/16
Staying mostly dry on Thursday. The area of high pressure brings further cloud and perhaps a spot of drizzle or light rain over the hills of the west. Highs at a milder 5 to 8C.
