Risk of frosts

Unsettled conditions are expected to start the up coming week but high pressure builds in across Britain. From mid week most places will be dry with varying amounts of cloud and sunnier spells. Frosts are expected at times with a quite cold night expected overnight Tuesday into Wednesday morning. After that the frost may become more patchy and confined to rural areas.

Tuesday 18/04/17
A cold, frosty start for many. A windy, chilly day to come across England and Wales with a good deal of cloud and scattered showers. Dry across Scotland and Northern Ireland with the best of the sunshine. Dry through the night with a widespread frost across much of the country with fog patches. Expect high temperatures of 8 to 11C.


Wednesday 19/04/17
Some rain spreads into Northern Ireland in the afternoon. Dry across the rest of the United kingdom with a cold, frosty and misty morning with dense fog patches dispersing to sunny spells. It stays dry in the afternoon but with more cloud. Overnight the frost threat may be across Wales and the far south of England. Highs of 11 to 13C.
 


Thursday 20/04/17
Mostly cloudy and breezy across the country today with lots of cloud and a few scattered showers, these mostly in the west. Cloud tends to break in evening with a dry, mostly clear night expected across Britain. A slight, patchy frost may affect rural locations. Highs of 11 to 15C.
 


Friday 21/04/17
Outbreaks of rain are expected across north western parts of Scotland with a few showers for Northern Ireland. Across England and Wales it should be a dry, milder day with some sunshine and occasional large amounts of cloud. Dry in the night with a touch of frost in some rural locations. Highs of 12 to 17C.
 


Saturday 22/04/17
It continues mild in the south today. Apart from a few showers across northern Scotland it will be a dry day with more cloud across the east and sunnier in the west. Highs of 11 to 16C.

Sunday 23/04/17
With high pressure dominating, it appears a settled and dry day across Britain. Best of the sunshine may be found across western Britain as cloud in the east tends to spread westward in the afternoon. Expect highs of 11 to 16C.
