Mild at first then becoming cooler and more unsettled by the end of the week

After the mild weather of the last few days conditions will be turning much more unsettled towards the end of the week. This leads into an unsettled weekend and much of the first part of next week too. Becoming cooler for al with some heavy showers and rain at times, most in more northern areas.

Friday 17/3/17
A more unsettled westerly flow on Friday. Southern areas of England and parts of southern Wales should be dry and bright at first, mild too. Cloud increases here through the day. Cloud, rain and strong winds across Ireland, northern Wales, northern England and Scotland. this becoming heavier during the day. Brighter and cooler in northern Scotland with sunny spells here. Highs at 6 to 14C.

Saturday 18/3/17
Low pressure close to Scotland on Saturday. It is going to be a breezy day with heavy showers and a few bright spells in Scotland, Northern and western Ireland and northwest England as well as Wales. More eastern and southern areas are likely to be brighter and drier, although there may be early rain in the far south. Highs at 9 to 14C.
 

Sunday 19/3/17
More cloud on Sunday with low pressure to the north of the country. A mostly cloudy southwest flow bringing drizzle and outbreaks of rain over western coasts and hills. More eastern and southern areas are likely to be drier with some bright spells in the east. Highs at 7 to 15C.
 

Monday 20/3/17
Low pressure to the north of Scotland again on Monday. This brings cloud and some rain in the west and north. Drier in more eastern and southern areas with the cloud breaking and sunny spells developing. Highs at 9 to 14C.

Tuesday 21/3/17
A weak front passing east on Tuesday. This brings cloud and outbreaks of rain, most in Scotland with only light rain further south. Drier both west and east of the front. Highs at 7 to 14C.

Wednesday 22/3/17
Much uncertainty in the forecast for Wednesday. Indications are that high pressure builds bringing a fair day in the west, although eastern areas tending to be cloudier with some rain here. Highs at 8 to 14C,
