Turning fresher this weekend with some thundery rain

Turning fresher through this weekend as some thundery rain tracks north. Indications for next week are that it stays mixed with the chance of some more thundery rain at times. However, it is going to be warm in the south and east, although fresher towards the west. There is much uncertainty in the forecast for next week.

Sunday 28/5/17
Low pressure clears to the northeast of Scotland on Sunday. This brings a brisk northwest flow with showery rain in Scotland. Scattered showers in Northern Ireland and northwest England, but elsewhere it is going to be dry with increasing spells of sunshine. A fresher day for all with highs at 15C in northern Scotland, 24C in southern England.

Bank Holiday Monday 29/5/17
A mostly dry day in Scotland with sunny spells, although cloud increases later. A further area of thundery rain in the south of the UK and Ireland, some of it heavy with lots of mist and murk. The northern extent of the area of thundery rain is unclear at this time. Feeling muggy with temperatures at 15 to 25C.
 

Tuesday 30/5/17
Small areas of low pressure take spells of thundery rain north and east. It may turn drier to the west with some brighter spells for a time although note that there is much uncertainty in the forecast. Highs at 16 to 23C.

 
 
 

Wednesday 31/5/17
Thundery showers could develop again on Wednesday as shallow areas of low pressure continue to affect the country. Drier spells for many though with sunshine too. Temperatures at 14 to 22C.

Thursday 1/6/17
There is expected to be a slow slip into more unsettled conditions through Thursday. More widespread rain may track eastwards, some of it thundery. Confidence is low in the detail of the forecast. Highs at 18 to 23C.

Friday 2/6/17
Low pressure may again be in control on Friday. This brings further showers or outbreaks of rain, most in the west and north. Perhaps drier to the east. Highs at 16 to 24C.
