Rain northern Scotland

Saturday
Cloud and rain affecting central and northern Scotland today. A scattering of showers in England and eastern Wales with some sunny spells too. A band of showers is expected to be approaching western England and Wales in the morning, these then crossing eastwards across the rest of England and Wales during the day. The showers could be heavy and thundery at times. Relatively few showers affeting the far southeast of England. Showers readily developing in Ireland, again some heavy although western areas may be drier and brighter. Highs at 12 to 17C.


Saturday Night
Rain clears from northern Scotland tonight, although an area of showers will affect western areas later. At the same time an area of cloud and rain will be spreading north through Ireland, perhaps with an odd shower in western Wales and northwest England. Dry elsewhere with clearer skies. There could be a touch of ground frost by the morning in more sheltered parts of Scotland and northern England.. Lows at a chilly 3 to 8C.


Sunday
Low pressure to the west of Ireland on Sunday with high pressure to the east. A front passing north across Ireland and into western Scotland will be bringing an area of rain with it, with lots of low cloud and drizzle following. An odd shower may affect the northwest of Wales and northwest England. Brighter for the rest of England and Wales with the best of the sunshine in the east. Highs at 21C in southeast England, 15C in Ireland and western Scotland.


Monday
High pressure remains to the east on Monday with an area of low pressure west of Scotland. A front will be pushing cloud and rain across Ireland, this reaching Wales and southwest England and eventually western England later on. Tending to be drier in the east with sunny spells and feeling warm here too. Highs at 17C in the west but up to 23 or even 24C in the east.
