Summery in the south
Turning colder tonight

Sunday
A taste of summer today with highs into the low 20s in the south of England but rather cool across Scotland. A band of moderate rain across north western parts of Scotland in the morning is expected to spread into Northern Ireland and most of Scotland during the course of the afternoon. A dry day to come across England and Wales with good spells of sunshine but turning more cloudy across western Wales and northern parts of England in the afternoon. Quite a breezy day to come with maximums of 10 to 17 Celsius across northern Britain and 18 to 23 Celsius across the south.

Sunday Night
As the winds veer around to the north west, much colder air will be sweeping southward through the evening and night. An area of light rain becomes patchy as it moves into northern parts of England and Wales in the evening. Overnight it should be dry apart from showers across northern Scotland and Northern Ireland. Clear spells develop across central and eastern parts of England. Expect minimum temperatures of 3 to 7 Celsius.

Monday
Feeling much colder today with a significant drop in temperatures from Sunday and with brisk north west winds. Overall we expect a good deal of cloud and only some brief, fleeting sunshine. Occasional showers will be developing in many areas through the day and these may even be wintry over the Scottish Mountains. A windy evening and night across Northern Ireland, Scotland and the far north of England as an area of rain spills in across Scotland. With clear skies and light winds across Wales and across central and southern parts of England it will be a cold and frosty night. Expect high temperatures of 8 to 12 Celsius.

Tuesday
A very windy day, especially across northern parts of Britain with gusts to 50 mph over the hills of Scotland. Outbreaks of rain across Scotland are expected to spread into Northern Ireland and northern England during the afternoon. Morning sunshine across Wales and southern England gives way to cloud in the afternoon. It stays very windy into the evening and the night with splashes of rain, although parts of central and southern England will stay dry. Look for high temperatures of 10 to 13 Celsius but feeling colder in those winds.
