A mixed weekend

Friday
Low pressure brings a more mixed day across the UK and Ireland today. Cloud and bands of showers in central and southern England with a further area of rain extending south to north through Ireland and into western Scotland. The area of rai in southern Ireland becoming heavier later. Heavy showers developing in central England and Wales, a few heavy. Cloudy to the southwest and over southern Wales with outbreaks of rain here. Much drier in northern England and Scotland although scattered heavy showers developing over the Pennines and southern Scotland. Highs at 14 to 18C.


Friday Night
Showers affecting Ireland, Wales, northwest England and Scotland overnight. For more central and eastern areas the night should be dry with broken cloud. Mostly dry in the northwest of Scotland too. Lows at 6 to 11C.

 
 
 


Saturday
Low pressure is to the west of Ireland on Saturday. A trough brings some showery bursts of rain through Ireland and into northwest England and western Scotland, this easing north through the day. Most eastern, central and southern areas of England will be dry with broken cloud and a few bright or sunny spells. A band of rain passes east with a front across Ireland in the morning, this reaching Wales and southwest England by the evening. Highs near 15 to 18C.


Sunday
A southwesterly flow affects the UK and Ireland on Sunday. An occluded front clears eastern England and Scotland in the morning bringing rain here at first. More broken cloud and a few bright spells but also scattered showers follow from the west. More persistent rain reaches southern Ireland later with the winds picking up here too. Highs at 14 to 18C.
