Thundery west tonight

Friday
Another hot day ahead across much of the UK and Ireland. There will be good periods of sunshine lasting throughout the day as temperatures widely rise in excess of 25C. Some cloud will be forming across northern England and Scotland. An increased breeze in western parts of the UK and also Ireland. Thicker cloud in the far west of Ireland bringing a few thundery showers here.
 


Friday Night
A warm night ahead. Skies will be mostly clear and it is going to be dry for most. Low cloud affecting parts of the east coasts, but this should not be too widespread. An area of thundery showers and rain in western Ireland edging into the Scilly Isles and Cornwall later in the night as low cloud, murk and fog becomes more widespread in the southwest. Lows at 13 to 16C.
 


Saturday
An area of low pressure tracks north through Ireland on Saturday. This takes an area of thundery rain with it through southwest England, Wales and the western Midlands in the morning. More eastern areas are going to be dry and humid although cloud increases in the afternoon with rain in the afternoon. Further rain reaches western and southern Scotland on Saturday afternoon as drier, fresher weather arrives in Wales and southern England. Highs at a cooler 17C on eastern coasts, nearer 21 to 25C elsewhere.


Sunday
Low pressure clears to the northeast of Scotland on Sunday. This brings a brisk northwest flow with showery rain in Scotland. Scattered showers in Northern Ireland and northwest England, but elsewhere it is going to be dry with increasing spells of sunshine. A fresher day for all with highs at 15C in northern Scotland, 24C in southern England.
