Brightening up for most

Tuesday
A cloudy start to this morning across most of England and Wales. There will be some spots of rain and drizzle, but these should be fading for most, although they may linger across southeastern England. Brighter weather for Scotland, Ireland and eventually northern England and Wales, although showers affecting western and northern Scotland, where it will also be windy. This afternoon sees the southeast staying cloudy, perhaps with a spot of rain here and there. Elsewhere it is going to be dry with sunny spells, and turning brighter across the rest of Wales and the Midlands. Highs at 9C in northern Scotland, 17C in southern England.


Tuesday Night
A dry night to come with some lengthy clear spells. A few showers could affect the far north and east of Scotland. A touch of ground frost is possible in parts of mid and south Wales as well as southern Ireland and sheltered parts of southwest England. Temperatures dipping to around 3 to 6C.
 


Wednesday
High pressure centred over the UK and Ireland on Wednesday brings a dry day. There will be some good spells of sunshine for most during the morning, although cloud is likely to be developing. This leads to a bright afternoon with plenty of cloud for many, although there will be some brighter skies too. The best of the sunshine in the afternoon is likely to be in eastern Scotland. northwest Scotland could see some drizzle later. Highs at 9 to 14C.


Thursday
Breezy across northern areas on Thursday. However high pressure is dominating so expect a dry day with sunny spells and some cloud across England and Wales, cloudier across Scotland and western with isolated spots of drizzle. It stays dry across the country into the evening and night. Rather cold overnight with a risk of frost and fog patches for England and Wales. Highs of 12 to 16C.
