Wet across England and Wales
Windy and mild

Issued: 0530hrs Monday 9 January 2017
Duty forecaster: John Ejdowski

Today a front and it's heavy rain soon will clear southern Scotland and will be pushing down into much of England through the morning and early afternoon. As it does so another area of rain moves back into Northern Ireland and Scotland in the afternoon. It does turn drier across all but East Anglia and the south east during the afternoon. It will be quite a windy day with maximum temperatures 6 to 9 Celsius.

This evening that area of rain in the south east soon clears away. Heavy rain lingers across Scotland through the evening and night while turning light across Northern Ireland and northern England. A few showers to affect Wales and the south west of England. It remains windy through the night with minimum temperatures of 2 to 5 Celsius.

If you are heading abroad severe cold is expected across the eastern and south eastern areas of Europe.
