Very warm east
Murky, damp west

Issued: 0530hrs Tuesday 13th September 2016
Duty forecaster: Simon Keeling

Very warm or hot in the east, murky with drizzle, rain and a risk of thunderstorms in the west

Good morning,

It's a very warm and even hot day for some parts of England, Wales and eastern Scotland today. Warm air from the continent is going to be bringing humid air to these areas, with the hottest conditions for those places where the sun is strongest. There will be some cloud floating around and where this occurs temperatures will be held back slightly, although it is still possible that 30C could be reach in southeast England. More widely 23 to 27C.

Western parts of Scotland, the far west of Wales, eastern Ireland and southwest England are cloudier and damper with outbreaks of rain. This could be thundery ata times, especially in the southwest. Murky with fog on the hills. Drier and fresher in western Ireland with some sunny spells.

Staying very warm and humid overnight with broken cloud and some mist or fog patches forming. Cloud and some spots of rain or drizzle for central and eastern Ireland as well as northern and western Scotland. A risk of some thundery showers in the far southwest.
