Morning Call - February 27, 2017
Unsettled and cooler
Rain and showers, some wintry

Issued: 0530hrs Monday 27 February 2017
Duty forecaster: John Ejdowski

The mild weather we had over the weekend gives way to cooler conditions today. Spells of heavy rain in the morning across England and Wales give way to brighter, showery conditions by the afternoon. The showers may turn wintry over the hills of Wales and northern England. Sunnier to the north with a few wintry showers. Expect highs of 5 to 9 Celsius.

The winds increase through the evening and night and while skies turn clear and it becomes cold, any frost should be limited to well sheltered areas. There is a risk though of icy conditions by morning. Overnight rain spills in across Northern Ireland and Scotland with snow on the Scottish Hills. Expect minimum temperatures of -2 to 2 Celsius.

If you are heading abroad over the next couple of days the weather is looking rather unsettled and wet across western Europe.
