Morning Call - January 03, 2017
Sunshine south & east
Windy in north

Issued: 0530hrs Tuesday 2nd January 2017
Duty forecaster: Garry Nicholson

Rain for north-west Scotland

Good morning,

High pressure extends across south & south-western Britain & Ireland, bringing fair weather to most regions. Plenty of sunshine across England & Wales.

A front to the north of Scotland brings more cloud to northern Britain, and frequent or persistent rain to the North-west Highlands.

A brisk west to north-westerly wind affects the north & north-east, but winds are lighter toward the south-west today.

Top temperatures will be just 5C in central & south-eastern areas, or 7C in the south-west. Northern Britain will reach 6 to 9C, mildest to the lee of high ground in the north-east.

Have a great day.
Garry
