Morning Call - February 13, 2017
Sunnier, very windy
Mainly dry, gales in SW

Issued: 0530hrs Monday 13 February 2017
Duty forecaster: John Ejdowski

The cold, wintry conditions we had over the weekend give way to much milder conditions this week. Not as cold across the country today but it will be a very windy day and this won't make it feel mild. Those winds will gust to gale force across south west England and Wales with coastal gusts of 55-60 mph possible. Apart from some drizzly rain across parts of Scotland, it will be a dry day with plenty of sunshine. Expect highs of 5 to 9 Celsius north to south.

This evening and night will be staying windy and this will inhibit frost despite a cold night for most. Most places will be dry and clear tonight but a front may edge into Cornwall to bring some rain. Expect minimum temperatures of 1 to 3 Celsius but milder across south west England.

If you are heading abroad over the next couple of days eastern parts of Europe will become less cold. Central parts of Europe along with the Balkans and the Adriatic Region will be settled and dry.
