Morning Call - January 20, 2017
Plenty of sun in south
Staying dull north

Issued: 0530hrs Friday 20th January 2017
Duty forecaster: Garry Nicholson

Light winds for most; breezy far south

Good morning,

High pressure extends across the British Isles - the high primarily centred over central-south-eastern Europe. Fair weather for all, but the remains of a front produces grey skies in northern areas.

Bright sunshine for much of Wales, the Midlands and southern England. Mostly light winds, but a brisk easterly breeze affects exposed English Channel coasts.

Grey skies may produce patches of drizzle for south-west Scotland, whilst areas to the north-east of the Highlands should be brighter with some sunshine.

Temperatures will be between 5 and 8C today, but will drop quickly to freezing by tonight where skies stay clear.

Have a great day.
