Cloudier with bands of showery rain passing north and mainly afecting the west

Good morning,

Bands of showers will be tracking northwards during the course of today, mostly affecting western areas. So if you're out and about early, do take a brolly because you might just need it. This morning sees the showers in southern Ireland and southwest England, son edging into Wales and central Ireland. An area of cloud and drizzle affects northeastern Scotland throughout this morning. Elsewhere it should be dry with some broken cloud.

This afternoon sees the showery rain affecting Northern Ireland, northern Ireland, Wales, the Midlands and southern England, the most significant over the hills. Staying damp in the far northeast of Scotland with some drizzle here.

Tonight brings more drizzly outbreaks of rain to western coasts and hills. The east should be dry although cloudy and mild.
