Mild, rain in west
Drier north

Issued: 0530hrs Thursday 8th December 2016
Duty forecaster: Simon Keeling

Mild again with rain in Wales, western & northern England spreading east

Good morning,

It's going to be another mild day over al parts of the country. The southwesterly flow brings much moist air to many western and southern parts of the UK and Ireland. A front gives rain in southern Scotland as well as through the far southwest of England, Wales and northern England. Heavy periods of rain in the west of these areas with lots of hills fog too. The rain eases here through the later morning and into the afternoon.

A mostly dry start in southeast England although there will be drizzle on southern coasts. Rain into the Midlands in the morning spreads eastwards, bringing patchy drizzle into eastern and southern areas in the afternoon. Lots of low cloud and fog settling on the hills.

Lots of cloud for Ireland and western Scotland with the risk of some drizzle on western coasts. Drier in eastern parts of Scotland with a few bright spells here. Bright periods in northern and eastern Irland in the afternoon.
