Blustery winds north, local gales western Scotland

Good morning,

Low pressure is centred north-west of Scotland today, passing eastwards through the day, bringing strong westerly winds to northern Britain, locally touching gales for in western Scotland. Pressure builds from the south-west across Ireland.

Weak fronts will move east across Britain, bringing some rain, mostly in the north-west, but amounting to very little elsewhere, and the far south & south-east should stay dry all day with occasional sunshine. Brighter skies should develop from the south-west into the afternoon and evening.

Today's temperatures will reach 18 to 21C for central, east & southern Britain. Cooler in the north-west, just 12 to 15C for western Scotland & Northern Ireland, plus Cumbria and Snowdonia when rain lingers.

Have a great day.
