Morning Call - June 30, 2017
Grey and damp
Very windy west & south-west

Issued: 0530hrs Friday 30th June 2017
Duty forecaster: Garry Nicholson

Heavy slow-moving showers by afternoon

Good morning,

Low pressure broadly influences northern-central Europe today, maintaining unsettled weather to the British Isles. A ridge of high pressure builds from the west into Scotland and Ireland later.

A slow-moving front pulls south & east across Britain during the day, bringing outbreaks of rain to the north & west in the morning. By afternoon, some heavy showers will break out for central & southern England. A zone of persistent rain then affects eastern counties into the evening.

Brightening skies across Ireland and later Scotland. Strong north to north-westerly winds around the Irish Sea & south-west, touching gale force. Winds very light in central & eastern England.

Today's top temperatures will be 17 to 20C in brighter central-eastern regions, but nearer 13C where rain lingers, and feeling cool where exposed to the wind.

Have a great day.
Garry
