Issued: 0530hrs Monday 24 October 2016
Duty forecaster: John Ejdowski

A rather cloudy, chilly day today but as we go through the day those chilly easterly winds will become much lighter. Some sunshine is expected across western Scotland and north west England with showers affecting eastern parts of Scotland. In the south there may be a few spots of rain at times while something heavier may affect Cornwall. Expect maximums temperatures 9 to 13 Celsius.

Across Cornwall the showers may persist into the evening and first part of the night. The bulk of Britain will be dry with clear spells and light winds. A few fog patches develop tonight along with a rural frost in the north and west. Expect minimum temperatures of 3 to 8 Celsius.

If you are heading abroad, heavy rain will affect Spain with the driest weather across The Balkans.
