Plenty of heavy showers for the Mediterranean

Today
A bitterly cold day across the eastern half of Europe with sun zero high temperatures from Germany eastward into Russia and south eastward into Greece and Turkey. Cloudy across Britain and northern France with some patchy rain. A dry day to come across Belgium, The Netherlands, Denmark and Sweden. Cloudy across Germany with snow in the far south and this will be heavy into Austria. Cold but dry and sunny across Poland, The Adriatic Region and Belarus. Heavy snow is forecast across Romania, The Ukraine into southern Russia and Turkey. Snow may also affect parts of Greece with plenty of heavy showers from the Adriatic to Cyprus. A dry day is expected across Italy, Spain and Portugal with sunny skies. An area of rain, preceded by snow spread into Norway later in the day. Very cold but dry across Finland. Very windy across south east Europe and the eastern Mediterranean.

Severely cold weather continues across eastern parts of Europe today. Further snow is expected across the Ukraine and eastern Turkey with patchy snow across the Adriatic Region and parts of Greece. A dry, cold day across Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic, Poland, The Baltic States into southern Russia. Snow is expected across northern Russia. Wet and windy across Britain with rain and this spread into northern France, Belgium, The Netherlands, Denmark and Sweden. Cold across Norway with wintry showers. Finland stays cold and dry. Cloudy with snow flurries across Romania and Bulgaria. Cold and mainly dry across Italy. Frequent and heavy showers are forecast from Sardinia eastward to Cyprus. Fine and dry across Portugal, Spain and France.
