Wet and windy western Scandinavia


Saturday
A dry and warm day across Spain and Portugal, highs 20C in the south-west. High pressure extends across central Europe, bringing dry weather and light winds to France, the Alps, much of Germany, plus the Czech Republic and Hungary, temperatures 7 to 10C.
Low pressure over the central Mediterranean, brings heavy rain and mountain snow to southern Italy and the Balkans. Northern Italy should be dry most of the day. Some rain extends into mainland Greece from the north, although areas around the Aegean Sea should stay dry. Wet around the Black Sea, and snow affects the mountains of Romania.
Meanwhile, in northern Europe, strong south-westerly winds bring heavy rain and snow to western Norway. Rain or drizzle for Denmark and the Netherlands, spreading to southern Sweden later. Areas around the Baltic will be dry with sunshine.


Sunday
Dry and sunny weather extends across Spain and Portugal, and staying warm, particularly in the south & west. Fair weather extends across the western Mediterranean, much of Italy the Alps and France. Showers affect the far south of Italy, and mainland Greece. Dry for the Balkans and areas around the Black Sea.
A south-westerly breeze affects the Low Countries and northern Germany. Patchy rain should fade through the day. Rain preceded by snow spreads east across the southern Baltic in the early hours, leaving a blustery and showery day for Poland and the Baltic states. Light winds and bright skies across much of Scandinavia. Norway sees a much better day, just a few areas of snow showers in the north, but rain and snow returns from the south-west into the night.
