Some heavy rain Italy & south-eastern Europe

High pressure over Scandinavia continues to dominate the weather situation across Europe, bringing rather cool conditions to much of the continent. The warmest temperatures will be across Spain and Portugal, reaching 30C toward the Algarve. Dry across Iberia and the western Mediterranean, with plenty of sunshine.
A small area of low pressure over southern Italy brings heavy rain to areas around the southern Adriatic, including the Balkan states and western mainland Greece , later spreading north-east into Romania & Bulgaria. Dry for the Greek Islands, also Turkey and Cyprus.
Most of central and western Europe will be dry. Temperatures 16 to 20C across France, warmest in the south-west. A chilly easterly breeze affects areas surrounding the Baltic and North Sea. A lot of cloud extends across eastern Europe, temperatures struggling around 10C. Patchy drizzle for northern Germany and Poland. Showery for the Baltic states. Dry for Norway, Sweden & Finland, but cool at 9 to 13C. Light winds in northern Scandinavia.

Saturday
Another dry and warm day for Spain and Portugal, highest temperatures toward the south-west again nearing 30C. Much cooler around the Biscay coast, 20C at best. A few showers possible around the Balearics, Corsica & Sardinia. A much brighter day for Italy and the Balkan region. Low pressure clears quickly away north-eastwards toward the Black Sea, bringing some heavy rain to southern Ukraine. Scattered showers may affect the Greek islands.
A cool feel across central & northern Europe thanks to a north-easterly breeze, which will be strongest around Denmark and southern Sweden, locally very windy. Dry and bright across France and the Alps. Extensive cloud for Germany, the Low Countries & Poland, plus occasional drizzly rain. Temperatures just 10 to 13C. High pressure remains situated over northern Scandinavia, maintaining dry weather for Norway, Finland and most of Sweden, although expect showers around the Baltic coast.
