Fair in the south, rain for northern areas

Drizzle and rain in northwest Scotland this morning, murky here too with fog on the coasts and hills. Clouding over in northern England and Northern Ireland, drizzle on northern coasts. It's a brighter morning though for much of the rest of England, Wales and Ireland, best sunshine in the south. Chilly for all.

Rain slips south through Scotland this afternoon and then into northern England during the afternoon and evening., Misty and murky over the Pennines and the hills of north Wales. Staying drier in the far south of England. Turning brighter and cooler in Scotland with a few showers around coasts in the north.

Cooler overnight as rain affects central and southern England, this probably not completely clearing southern coasts until the morning. Clearer spells developing for many other areas, some showers around northern and western coasts and hills.
